The holiday season is in full swing so we figured we would share some of our favorite things. Consider this the PT/fitness/health and wellness favorite things from the physical therapists here at Crossphysio!

Dr. Guillemo’s favorite things:

Slow cooker/air fryerWe always stress the importance of nutrition and protein intake for health, healing, strength and hypertrophy. These are great tools for making meal prep and food prep easier and staying successful with nutrition. We recently got the Ninja Dual Zone Air Fryer
and it is used multiple times a day in our house.

Reverse Hyper This is one of the best pieces of equipment for loading the small low back muscles that are very often neglected and need some love (and direct strengthening) too! I use it for many of my clients as well as my own prehab/preventative care. We have this one in the clinic.

Strike Movement Haze Trainers These are personally my all time favorite training shoe. (Kelsey’s side note: That says a lot coming from the guy who has ALL the shoes.) Comfortable, wide forefoot/toe box. Stable enough for lifts, flexible enough for jumping and running. Only a 4mm heel drop, however, which may not be best for those with very stiff ankles needing a little more heel height. You can find the shoes here.

Dr. Marissa’s favorite things:

Kettlebells – They are so versatile, so many ways you can load the body for strength and power. We use this adjustable version in the clinic which is nice for a smaller footprint if you’re using these at home.

Fair life chocolate protein drinks – 30g of protein per serving and they taste delicious. We love when Costco has a restock on the days we are at the store. You can find them here.

Intimate rose pelvic wand – This is one of our most frequent recommendations for our pelvic clients for their home exercise program and continued management of any symptoms outside of PT. You can find it here.

Cups for myofascial cupping – This in an underutilized tool in our opinion. Many patients get awesome symptom relief which allows them to progress to increased tissue loading and strengthening. Plus, it is a great alternative for those who just do not prefer dry needling. We have a set similar to this in the clinic.

Resistance bands for travel – They’re lightweight, have a small footprint in a suitcase and allow you to still get a good workout in. You can find a variety of good options on Amazon here.

Dr. Kelsey’s favorite things:

C2 bike erg I am often in a time crunch to get a workout in early in the AM. I’m usually tired too and don’t have a ton of motivation to lift weights at that time. So this has become my favorite! From during pregnancy when I just want to move to early mornings trying to get a quick sweat in to just the workouts where I want to listen to a podcast and not think, this is my favorite!

Relyte electrolytes Since pregnancy, I’ve been on a journey to really focus on nutrition and these have been a staple of my early mornings. I love the strawberry lemonade flavor.

Vuori daily legging These are probably my favorite pants. High waisted, thick but so easy to move in, soft, last forever and look new… I could go on and on. I wear them everywhere. You can find them here.

Dumbbells – Since my first baby, dumbbells have become my favorite way to lift. I can work hard, lift heavy and get a great workout in. Plus, I can keep them quieter in the basement if my kids are sleeping… or I can move them around easier in the garage when my kiddos are around to keep them safe.  We’ve built up a nice set but we do recommend these adjustable ones to clients quite often.
